I cannot reproduce, D&D from 'My Computer' subnodes works fine for me despite the file is in library or not.

Couldn't it be a test error?

Is the log complete? I don't see any file copy operation in the log.

Log should have captured the connecting of the iPod as well as the D&D sync. In my test the files were in the Library. Did you see the files on the iPod after the sync?

Yes, I can see and play the file in iPod Touch after sync (tested iOS6).

Could you generate one more log this way:
1. Run Dbg view
2. Run MM and wait for iPod scan
3. Clear DbgView (press Ctrl+X) in DbgView
4. D&D one file onto iPod node in tree
5. Save the log after the file copy/sync.

It's working for me too now on 1706. I've tested with both folder and file D&D and both worked.
