Yes, it is true. Sync with mediastore is started only when some tracks have changed. But no tracks was changed or added in this case. Only the subset of tracks was changed.

I will fix it.

To make sure there's no misunderstanding; I added a directory containing several subdirectories, each of which contained several tracks--all of which were new, so afaik I did add tracks.

By adding tracks, I mean adding new tracks to device.

Tested build 217, and this still doesn't seem to work.

I first checked the

[x] Download folder

and triggered a scan, and when that didn't work, I checked the individual subfolders i.e.

[x] /Download/Abba/Album1
[x] /Download/Abba/Album2
etc...

and that failed as well.

I submitted a debug log: W0D8EJZINZ

NOTE also: iirc there was an intentional limitation in earlier builds to restrict the checkbox to top-level folders and automatically include all child folders. I'm not sure why that was the case, but fyi, in this build that restriction was lifted--not sure if that's intentional.

I have fixed it already in 217.

This is another bug.. in ES explorer. I tried it and it doesn't refresh mediastore when file is moved. I know that we have issues with the refresh too.

But the sync with Mediastore works ok.

I don't understand your note. The only limitation to make it less confusing is denied browsing of fully checked folders. And it still works. There is no special behaviour for top-level folders.

When folder is fully checked, all subfolders are included.

There may be a bug in ES Explorer, but when I copy tracks with ES Explorer to the /Download directory, they appear fine in both Google Play Music and Player Pro.

They just don't appear in MMA.

Edit: it's very strange, though--one subdirectory that had been added to /Downloads appeared in the MMA library when /Downloads was enabled, but the newly added subdirectories didn't (even though they do appear in both Google Play, Samsung Music Player, and Player Pro).

fyi, I tested this both on a Nexus 5(kitkat) and GS3 (JB).

Verified on Nexus 7. Still to test Nexus 5 / GS3.

Verified Nexus 5 (kitkat) and SG3 (Jellybean 4.1) as well.
