Unable to reproduce. Some fixes of playlists issues (most probably 0011053) might fix this issue.

Tested build 149, and the issue remains. Here's how I replicated it:

1 Sync a number of playlists over usb
2 Play a track on the sync list in MMA
3 Play a track on the sync list in MMW
[NOT RELEVANT to this bug
4 Initiate wifi sync
-->after analysis phase, MM crashes
5 When MM is restarted --> 2 icons in the notifications bar:
 - re. sync
 - re. sync confirmation dialog
The sync icon goes away
6 Click the sync confirmation icon in the notifications bar
--> MM runs, but the confirmation dialog doesn't appear
7 Try to force terminate MM process
--> Notification icon still doesn't go away--it's impossible to get rid of it without turning off the device.]
8 After restarting MM, initiate a wifi sync
--> MMA prompts for 5 Playlists update on the PC (even though only 1 should)
9 Initiate another wifi sync
--> 5 playlists updated on MMA (not sure why--there weren't any changes)
10 Look at the playlists node
--> duplicates exist for all of the playlists

Note: I tested again with MMA 150 against MMW 1648 and the results are mostly the same except that the instability is fixed. i.e.

1 Sync 3 Playlists over usb: test b, test c, test d
2 Play a track on the sync list in MMA
3 Play a track on the sync list in MMW
4 Initiate wifi sync
--> MMA prompts for all Playlists update on the PC! i.e.

Confirm Updates & Deletions

New files & playlists
Items to copy to the PC

Test b
1 track

test c
1 track

test d
1 track

5 Look at the playlists node
--> duplicates exist for all of the playlists

I cannot replicate the issue, but I probably found a reason for this, I will fix it on MMW side in build 1649.

Note that finally I reproduced partly the issue (the confirmation appeared), assigned to me as the fix needs to be done on MMW side.

Fixed in build 1649.

The duplicate playlists no longer appear, but the issue that MMA prompting to recopying content needlessly and updating metadata is still occurring. I suspect that this is related to 0011052

Tested MMA 150 / MMW 1651 same as above except that there are a total of 13 tracks on the device.

-->
Confirm Updates & Deletions

New files & playlists
Items to _update_ on the PC

Composer test2
4 tracks

Sync test
5 tracks

Test b
1 track

test c
1 track

test d
1 track

Click No
--> 4 files downloaded (& converted)!
--> Message Updated 9 tracks, Downloaded 4 tracks!

Note: on one occasion when I synced over usb, duplicate playlists _did_ appear, and then then disappeared as soon as a media scan occurred in MMA.

I cannot replicate and I wonder:
Marek, do you added confirmations for updates? Because Rusty indicated that the text is "Items to _update_ on the PC".

AFAIK:
- metadata updates has never been confirmed during WiFi sync (also as suggested)
- files have never been re-uploaded physically to the MMW server. Only "new" files are copied to MMW server, right?

So I don't understand how the scenario described by Rusty could happen?
Maybe really the same reason as in 0011052 ?

I cannot replicate it now with build 159. Could you please retest it? New pairing of playlists were implemented.

Only playlists and media metadata are updated from MMA to MMW. And there is a confirmation for updates of playlists. So no files are re-uploaded to MMW. These 9 tracks were updated from MMW.

Btw. the loading circle doesn't necessary mean media scan. In this case it was certainly processing of USB sync. That is why changes appeared after this sync.
