| Description | There may have been a regression introduced earlier in the 3.1 cycle via 0005139 In that bug MM began saving to OriginalReleaseTime (and apparently stopped saving to ReleaseDate ). Documentation still shows ReleaseDate (i.e. doesn't match to the actual situation) Needs investigation...I don't quite understand why there was a need to introduce OriginalReleaseTime in the first place, if Release Date existsed. | ||||

Assigning to Rusty to fix the help documentation. It appears that OriginalReleaseTime was chosen because there was no other standard spec for a tag that included all date information. |

EDITED: The "Additional Information" field of this issue says: Tag Specs: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384495(VS.85).aspx implying that this list is relevent, but this list is of tags that are NOT specific to audio files and contains some that should not go in audio files. I suggest this reference be changed to list of tags specifically for audio files: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384498(VS.85).aspx |

Updated help documentation so that it is consistent with actual tagging practice. We can re-open the bug (or a different one) if there's a need to make additional tagging improvements. |
