Summary | 0002371: Burning takes too long to 'prepare tracks'
Description | Many users have complained that MM takes too long 'preparing' for a CD to be burned. We should either: a) speed up the process b) allow the process to be overridden

As discussed personally with Ludek, we can make two options available to users: - The current where tracks are first prepared to HD (decoded) - A new one where tracks would be decoded on the fly. The second option would be faster, but less secure in case of damaged mp3 tracks, etc. |

Implemented in build 962, - added [x] On the fly audio burning checkbox on the burn settings page - ~ 4 MB buffer in memory instead of decoding to the HD beforehand (4MB is enough, but while a track is closing, the next one is preparing to this buffer). So we are burning faster with bigger buffer. Tested 48 minutes of audio - both features with results: 1. decoded beforehand to the HD and burnt -> ~ 11 minutes (6 minutes decoded + 5 minutes burnt) 2. burnt on the fly -> ~ 6 minutes |
