Summary0002294: 'Level Track Volume' doesn't work on a track that has been leveled
DescriptionI've confirmed what a user has reported: Level Track Volume does not work on a track that has been previously levelled. e.g.
-Level a track's volume at 89db
-Change the baseline to 95db
-Attempt to level the volume ---> Nothing happens!!

I would have thought that it should re-level the volume if 'only analyze tracks with unknown leveling adjustment' is disabled.

The workaround is to re-analyze the track and then attempt to Level it (for some reason 'Level Track Volume' works if this is done).
Additional InformationReported in a very roundabout manner at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7016

It works fine for me, but I probably know what is confusing: If clipping prevention is enabled (by default), MM cannot increase volume without any limit. Then it can happen that you start volume leveling and nothing happens (because additional increase would cause clipping). If you disable clipping prevention, I'm sure it will work as expected.

Ok, it seems that you're right that 'clipping prevention' is the cause of the volume leveling not working, however, I don't understand why it is acting in this manner:

-Suppose I level track volume to 89db-->works successfully
-Then I switch the baseline to 80db and relevel-->works successfully
-Then I switch back to 89db and relevel-->clipping prevention prevents it from leveling at that level (even though it had previously successfully leveled to 89db!

Why is that? i.e. if it worked previously, shouldn't it work again?

Note: I've posted Nora Jones - I've got to see you again to the ftp server. It always occurs with this track.

Fixed in build 929.
 - There was a problem in re-calculation of clipping when a track was leveled. Now it's fixed, but tracks that were previously leveled (really leveled, not only calculated coefficients) have currently wrong information about clipping prevention. In order to correct this user should re-analyze leveling coeffs for where he/she notices any problem.
