Summary | 0002185: Advanced Search / AutoPlaylist: Missing Genres from the list
Description | I deleted my library completely, installed MM 915 afresh, and then tried to search for Genre=Comedy or Genre|=Comedy, however 'Comedy' is nowhere to be found in the list of Genres to check off, even though I can see many tracks with Genre=Comedy in my DB!! My original hypothesis was that this may be because Genres that aren't on the list of ID3v1 genres aren't getting added, however, I see that there are other such Genres that DO appear in the list. So I have no idea why this is happening :(

Please send me MM.mdb file which exhibits this problem. |
|
I've uploaded the mdb file to the ftp server. |

Fixed in build 917. - I can't reproduce, i.e. if I start MM with this DB, Comedy genre works fine. My theory is that it happened only while MM was running when reference counting of a genre went accidentally to zero and MM thought this genre isn't used (if you would tried to restart MM, it should work fine). So I modified slightly the algorithm and it shouldn't happen anymore. |

Retested in build 916 to generate a bit more info and found that the problem can persist even after restarting MM. Here are the repro steps: 1) Delete MM completely from system (incl. db) 2) Install MM build 915 and scan system 3) Register MM Gold 4) Attempt to modify the 'Favorites Not Heard Recently (1hr)' playlist by adding a criteria of Genre|='Comedy' however 'Comedy' is nowhere to be found! 5) Restart MM and try step 4 again and the same problem occurs! 6) Try to create a new playlist where Genre=Comedy and 'Comedy' _does_ appear! From this point onwards, I can no longer reproduce the bug. I'm not sure why this is happening, but the problem is reproducible if I pursue steps 1-4! Will retest on 917. |

Retested in 917, and the problem still occurs when I try to do a query after a clean install/scan (exactly as described in steps 1-4 of my last comment). Note: with build 917, the problem doesn't occur after I stop and restart MediaMonkey. |

Fixed in build 919. - Now I understand the issue and fixed it. |
