Summary0004962: Modify KB article re. Multimedia keyboard workarounds
DescriptionWe have to update the article that refers to bug 0002430:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=50

Note from Peke:
Not sure About Genius (1), but that can be easily tested by Petr as he have Genius keyboard used in testing, same thing goes to 2. where like in 1. Driver handle all calls from keyboard and it could be possible that command will not be executed only by MM in Win XP due the fact that Win XP is limited in Catching these commands (Vista fixed that).

3. and 4. are Fixes to device driver. Fixed by adding additional features and not related to 0002430 fix as manufacturer need to include MM in their support list.

5. and 7. will be obsolete by plugin.

6. driver is only one handling the remote commands, but default driver plugins include MCE support which is supported by 0002430 fix so maybe that is also obsolete.
TagsNo tags attached.
Fixed in build

We should also document this:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=36208&sid=d9cc35b5d7cfbe97d67641e87514238e&p=190208#p190208

i.e. adding
PreferLLKeysHook = 1
to the [options] section of MediaMonkey.ini file causes the MM behaves same way as in MM 3.0, i.e. uses low level keyboard hook that has disadvantage/advantage that when focus is on another application, shortcut works but it is not treated by the current application (MM eats the hotkey and makes the hotkey more global).
