We miss writing tags to MKV/WebM. Tagging system defined by Matroska format is way too complex to be supported fully (I have not seen it yet in any other SW, I think it is too impractical to use), but it is possible to add support of at least some simplified, flat, version, to support most of the tags we use and some extended tags.

Movies related UI in MM5 is currently pretty lacking, due to some unfinished work probably even worse than in MM4. Some items to be reviewed:

1. Better metadata retrieval - already discussed in other Mantis issues.
1b. Related is a possible better separation of Movies and Series, possibly with an addition of the third category for other types, like home Videos, etc. I.e. to have categories Movies, TV/Series and Video and to try to split videos to these categories.

2. Simplified List should be optimized for Videos, i.e. to suggest the most important columns and their layout.

3. Better Series UI (probably per 0014048 to convert the current Album view to a new Series view).

4. Ordering of the grid view (however, this is generic, even to Music, we need to implement it somehow for all grid views).

Currently we have enabled changing order of subviews in Manage views - Configure View for Browser views (in collection views), but new order is not projected to display of the subviews, we did not add support for it yet.
Also Home view miss Manage views functionality.

Currently lyrics and artwork are editable via the Playing dialogs (Playing > Art and Playing > Lyrics), but these fields aren't editable via the Properties dialog. (Conversely, the Properties dialog allows various fields to be edited, but this requires extra steps in the Playing view).

Ideally, any property that is supported and editable in the Playing view should also be editable in the Properties view and vice versa. This could be implemented by:
1) Making the Properties dialog a full-screen view that is scrollable in the same manner as the Playing view. In other words, it would have tabs for:
Basic | Art | Lyrics

2) Similarly, for the Playing, view a tab can be added e.g.
Queue | Art | Lyrics | Properties

0022210: MiniPlayer rendered incorrectly

1) When minimizing to the MiniPlayer, then restoring a few times, the MiniPlayer is rendered incorrectly.

The initial rendering is a taller window, then when it breaks, every time after it breaks it's rendered incorrectly. The initial rendering seems to have poor use of vertical space within the window.

2) Once in this state, the MiniPlayer will render in the top left corner on the screen the main window is running if it's used on another monitor. Currently duplicate management is a very complex/manual process. MM should have a single tool that allows the user to:
- Easily find all duplicates via a combination of existing hash (exact duplicates) and artist/title matching + fingerprinting to help automate the process for finding duplicates that are either similar sounding (different versions) or are missing track metadata.
- Visually display possible duplicates in a manner that makes it obvious which items are possible duplicates (e.g. grouping them)
- Facilitate selection of which items to retain and which to reject
- Automatically recommend which files to retain and which to reject (e.g. via rules based on bitrate, volume leveling, etc.)
- Automatically recommend which metadata to retain (e.g. most recently updated track OR merge of metadata OR selection of metadata, TBD)
- Allow play history of deleted entries to be merged with the retained entries (e.g. last played should be the most recent date, played # should be the sum of all played # values).
- Allow playlists to be automatically updated with the retained entries

Additionally, it should be able to handle cases in which the duplicates actually exist AND/OR cases in which there are duplicate database entries (even if the tracks do not exist)

Note: usecases could involve:
- finding duplicates within a set of selected tracks
- finding whether a set of tracks already contains duplicates elsewhere in the library

There is number of apps and Devices using common external Metadata to faster show the library, info and its content resulting in library browsing like in supplied picture (FTP).

QNAP, Synology, netgear, d-Link, Raspberry Pi, Linux, Apple TV (ATV2 included), iOS, Android, ...

NOTE: Multiple targets may be used as they do not interfere each other.

Currently a user can't easily change the image shown in the Album Art and Artist Views in the Playing node in the Media Tree. Adding Choose image to the Context Menu would allow for a quicker method, then going to the Artist or Album page to make the edit.

As described at 0019714, when artwork is looked up, the resulting images:
- can be blank (as in the case of Paul Simon - Rhythm of the Saints) when a single source contains 40+ hi-resolution images
- can be irrelevant (when booklet art is presented instead of album art)

A solution to this is to:
- Look up a limited number of thumbnails (without presenting them) from each source
- Present 2-4 thumbnails from each source, preferring those that are square
- Present the remaining thumnails following the above

3 do the same for tracks 2-8
4 press STOP while the 8th track is playing
--> crash!

This occurs about half the time.

There are two problems with playback:
1) playing through WASAPI or MMDS for a very long time (> 1.5 hour) can lead to occasional "buffering" pauses and interruptions. When playing tracks of the same format, they occur after similarly long intervals (like about 90 minutes for 48 kHz / stereo / 32 bit playback)
2) playback of tracks from paths longer than 255 characters stopped working

Often Auto Tag misses TV Series ID.

In Order to have it more accurate in 0012481 Description it is confirmed that many of not media apps uses external data preferring over Tag Data.

For TV Series when Auto-Tag is executed It should check Few things (In order of checking):
1. Folder Contain Series.xml/tvshow.nfo and load correct TVDB ID from it xxxxxxx (that points to TVDB ID in both files)
1a. Same code should check in TV Series are browsed before TVDB is searched query that ID As first one in "Wrong Series?" Context
Implementation Note: If Checked filename is in this folder structure \Season \ then Series.xml/tvshow.nfo are found in "..\" instead of folder with file

2. TV Episode Titles are not Auto Tagged, Auto Tag Should Check for .info and Load ?????????????????

3. Date is wrong as for all Episodes it adds Premiere Date of Series not each episode date which can be as above found in .info under YYYY-MM-DD

4. progress Bar Never Finishes even all tracks are processed.

5. If multi episodes across several seasons are selected for Auto -Tag then only first season is tagged (This also apply for Albums with More CDs) NOTE Title shows "Auto-Tag: Tracks 1 to 20 of 30"

6. Using 3Dots menu -> Properties it should Auto Fill Series Name with Series Name, instead in many cases it shows Series name Empty

In MMW/MMM 2027 if the user changes the order of the Playing list by sorting by a header
--> change sort order notification appears

however, clicking 'Save new order' in the notification OR via the icon in the toolbar doesn't save the new order (in fact it causes the presented sort order to revert to what it was previously).
