0022044: Move (cross)fade processing to the main app before VST/DSP plugins

Currently, we process crossfading mostly in the output plugins. This is problematic in several ways, it does not work with third-party output plugins, and it also complicates proper DSP/VST processing. We should move crossfading to a stage before DSP/VST so that these filters can process the actual resulting audio rather than separate input streams. This solution would also make it possible to use any output plugin with the same crossfade processing, making the audio playback pipeline more universal.

Remove Silence is too sensitive and fail in some cases.

Further testing Found that in 99.9% of cases less than first <100ms contain peak of -35db (See pic from sample track)

Solution:
a) Lower sensitivity to trim all lower than -30db (Maybe undocumented INI setting)
b) Do smarter remove silence eg. ignore peeks for first 100ms (it is often used for padding) and check remove silence after that time)
c) Combination of a) and b)

Some of the tags with UTF16 encoding are not read correctly and return empty string instead of correct value.

It seems after changing of VST3 plugins list and their order, it can sometimes happen, that config window of VST3 plugin stops showing. And even app restart does not help.

When MediaMonkey fails to find Synced Lyrics it doesn't attempt to lookup static Lyrics. Instead after failing to find Synced Lyrics is should continue Lyrics lookup for static Lyrics.

0022227: Auto-Complete can result in bad data

Auto-Complete completes values within the text box. This means the user needs to be review entered data to make sure auto-complete didn't change the value to the wrong value.

1) This is a common issue when entering new names that lack a last name. So when entering X, MediaMonkey will auto-complete with an existing X Y value. This is easy to miss.

2) Another scenario is when a multi-value field has pasted content in non-multi-value format (like , separated). When changing the separator, MediaMonkey auto-completes, which is unlikely to be the user intent.

3) When editing a multi-value field to prepend values before an existing value. When typing value; in front of an existing value the existing value gets highlighted. Thus if you type value1; value2; in front of value3, you end up with value1; value2; instead of value1; value2; value3

Solutions are:
A. Only show matches in Drop-Down, no auto-complete in textbox
B. Users have an option to enable/disable in textbox auto-complete

0022226: Analyze Volume re-analyzes volume for known track/album volume [Regression]

With the option to only analyze volume for files with unknown leveling enabled, MediaMonkey still re-analyzes single files or Albums with both Track and Album Volume known.

Seen only once, neither seen before or after this event on 3514. So no way to reproduce. Please close if log doesn't show why.

On startup an Invalid Pointer Operation error was shown.

0022224: Skip doesn't skip track on Rip [Regression]

A) When MediaMonkey encounters errors during rip it will offer to Skip or Cancel ripping the track. Cancel will now Cancel the full rip, but Skip no longer works. The error will keep popping up over and over.

B) There also should be a Continue without warning again option if user prefers to have Rip continue, but not want to see the popup constantly popup.

0019258: Playlists: Support hierarchical M3U playlists export

Our bundled plugin "Export All playlists" can be improved by allowing exporting hierarchical M3U playlists similar to what is described at 0016540:0057660, by creating hierarchical folders for all playlists as that would help users with many playlists to easily search for them.

Preliminary tests shows that if using along with relative path setting there is no actual limit to folder structure.

Adding simple "[x] use hierarchical folders for Sub playlists" in UI would be more than enough.

EDIT: Maybe adding parent playlist names to filename with separator character can be also used.

0016540: Devices & Services: Ability to write hierarchical M3U playlists

Many Services do not support Playlist at all or Playlist hierarchy (Tested on Google Drive, DropBox, One Drive Online services, Windows Desktop Apps, for the services and using QNAP Hybrid Backup https://www.qnap.com/solution/hbs3/en/ )

Currently only when Service is accessed with MediaMonkey then MM reads "[SERVICE ROOT FOLDER] > MediaMonkey > Meta_Files > v3 > main.db.zip" and all is imported/show correctly, but when user wants to remotely access/sync data on different PC/Device that do not have MM installed then all playlists are lost.

Solution would be that MM Sync M3U8 Playlists (FORCED RELATIVE PATH) using Folder hierarchy To simulate MM Playlist Hierarchy.

If This would be implemented then Service "Sync profile" Options are missing "Playlists" where user can set M3U8 Format to set Linux or Windows format of folder separator eg. "/" or "\"

NOTE that "HBS 3 Hybrid Backup Sync" once synced explained folder structure, Playlists and files allow QNAP Music Station app can play the files and import Playlist.

Expected behavior would be if not supporting Playlist hierarchy structure to at least sync Playlists like it "Local folder" Service.

0022223: Playlist export and encoding format

In MediaMonkey currently there is no way to choose playlist exporting format.

Some devices only support ASCII (some even do not recognize unicode filenames), some assume UTF-8 and some use UTF-16 and MM always write files with BOM character.

There should be a way to select that in Device profiles and in playlist export.

Options that should cover most cases are:
[ASCII, UTF8 no BOM, UTF8 with BOM, UTF16]

NOTE: We should also consider adding "[ ] Force ASCII filenames" which would apple "$ASCII()" and on fly convert filenames to ASCII according to [File Mapping] from INI file.

0017467: Extended tags: Add non supported MM Tags to Extended tags

MM5 support some standard and classified fields, but some are not available even clearly classified in ID3v2 like https://id3.org/id3v2.4.0-frames

The change would include that non MM used tags should be shown at extended tags and values can be edited.

Solution for reading such tags in this case is to create map of standard tags (HTML5Monkey\Id3lib.pas) from https://id3.org/id3v2.4.0-frames and make them recognized as Tag name correctly eg. for example tag TPE4 -> "Remixed by (TPE4)" where user can edit value but not Tag Name as it is already predefined in standard eg. map supported tags "HTML5Monkey\Id3lib.pas" with descriptions used from https://id3.org/id3v2.4.0-frames

Solution for writing such tags into files would be to instruct user to Type standard field eg. TPE4 and MM would fill the rest of Name so it would be clear that tag is standard not part of TXXX

NOTE: As they are extended Tags no translation is needed ATM, but will allow users to manage those tags also and be less dependent on third party apps.

Files to Edit > DB/Tag Mismatches will keep increasing memory usage during reading files. At around 2000 folders scanned memory usage was over 2GB. Eventually MediaMonkey will crash.

0022185: Opening Properties on multiple files causes high memory usage/slow to use

When opening the Properties for multiple files, the dialog is slow to operate and memory usage spikes 1GB+. Closing Properties doesn't seem to release this memory.

It looks like after a bit that the Properties dialog becomes more responsive, memory use remains high.

Add/Rescan Files will keep increasing memory usage during scanning. At 13000 files scanned memory usage was over 2GB. Eventually MediaMonkey will crash.

Advanced Tag Management in MM4 is outdated as MediaMonkey supports many more tagging standards than ID3. It would improve MediaMonkey a lot of it could better manage tags and clean up tags in MediaMonkey.

The suggestions here are to make MediaMonkey a better tag manager. Something that would be useful for users using their files on multiple platforms and software.

0018051: Supported Formats dialog is too technical (how to enable ALAC)

1) For example it's unclear as to how ALAC can be enabled as Supported Format. The problem is that Audio format is separated from File type. So whereas elsewhere you'd choose ALAC MP4 (like in Convert format), in Set formats you need to select MP4 as File type and then it's unclear what Audio format would enable ALAC.

Solutions could be:
1 Use less cryptic names for Audio format
2 Use tooltips to explain each Audio format
3 Use documentation to explain each Audio format

2) Secondary is that because File type and Audio format are separate the user also would need to know which Audio formats work for selected File type. For example a user can select FLAC as File type and then enable MP1 as Audio format. If user fails to select FLAC as Audio format MM will not support FLAC on sync.

Solution could be:
1 Audio formats is filtered based on a selected File type, only show Audio formats supported by the File Types selected
2 Audio formats are greyed when no matching File type is selected
