Summary0008178: Playback sometimes stops or skips tracks
DescriptionUsers have reported, and I've experienced as well today with build 1411 3 instances in which MM will halt playback on a track that is perfectly playable (even in MM).

This behavior seems to be random, and fairly infrequently, but a couple of users have been able to capture it in debug logs (see links).

Setting as resolved, since recent changes (mainly in build 1418) should probably fix it. That said, I'm not sure about it, please reopen in case any similar issue occurs.

Rusty, the latest log you have attached indicates that there might be a freeze on playing \\NAS2\Public\Billboards Top Hits (1980 - 1989)\Billboard Top Hits 1980\03 - Lipps Inc - Funkytown.mp3 - particularly on reading its album art for showing in the player. Can you reproduce the issue with this track? Maybe its related to the new JPEG handling routines...

User says it is still happening in build 1419: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59423#p308322

Yes, you're right--it seems to be a problem with images. The problem occurs consistently -- as long as the Art&Details window is open (it displays the tagged art, rather than the Album image).

Album is posted to the ftp server.

The current fix isn't good enough yet, reopening to improve few more things.

Test note:
Verify that hibernation doesn't trigger this bug:

Re-opening. This bug can be consistently triggered as described at:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8028#c27521

i.e. running world of warcraft or other games causes MM to get into a state in which playback of any track results in the last 10 seconds of the track repeating endlessly.

Also here http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/staff/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=viewticket&ticketid=12549&offset=10
user says that build 1426 was better, but in build 1428 the skipping is consistently reproducable again.

I asked the user for debug log.

It seems that the problem still exists in 1431:

User 'sesame' has provided the following steps to replicate:

1. started MediaMonkey 1431
2. navigated to Metal > After Forever in the columnbrowser
3. Doubleclicked on track 1. Ex Cathedra
4. Tracks 1-6 were skipped and 7 started playing

In this case it happened already on the first attempt, when it doesn't occur, I can just skip or select some songs and eventually the skip occurs again. With 1431 the skips are more frequent and with more tracks than with 1430 and 1428. With versions before that I never had these problems.

I have just added more debug messages for build 1432 and also asked the user over PM in forum for some more details, as it looks like the issue is related to FLAC playback.
