Summary0008051: Album Art Disappears on skins that display artwork in Player
DescriptionWhen MM is using a skin that displays Album Art within the player, Arwork appears to disappear, even though it still exists. i.e. it displays in the player, but appears non-existent in the Art&Details window and in the Properties > Artwork tab.

To reproduce:
1 switch to a skin that displays artwork (e.g. I tested with MM3's vitreous blue)
2 switch Art&Details view to Now Playing
3 play music
-->Tracks with tagged artwork will initially display (though in a strange manner--if multiple images exist, different images will be displayed in the Player and Art&Details windows). Once tracks with linked artwork play, all tracks will start appearing without artwork in locations other than the player.

Edit: it seems that the images actually do disappear--when I switch back to an MM4 skin, the images are really gone!!

Re-assigning to Rusty to figure out repro steps--the issue can't be reproduced by Rusty or Petr using the above steps.

This issue is happening for me also as reported here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59055&p=303711#p303711

The issue doesn't seem to be deterministic. If I set the 'Art & Details' to show 'Now Playing' and then double click various tracks so that they start playing, sometimes the Art in the Player displays correctly, and sometimes it doesn't (i.e. it doesn't match what is displayed in the Art & Details window).

However, I still can't replicate the situation in which the Properties Dialog > Art tab doesn't display the Artwork (even when artwork has disappeared from the Player's Album Art window).

Re-assigning in the hope that the logs provided by Nyn reveal something useful.

Edit: I notice that whereas in the past, the Properties dialog always indicated that images were either:
a) stored in <directory>/<filename>.jpg
b) stored in tag
Now in many cases, MM indicates that images are stored to <directory> (i.e. it's unclear where the tags are stored). Could this be related?

Also, Player skins that display artwork seem to flash several times before the art is displayed when going through the repro steps. I wonder if that is related.

I'm able to replicate this consistently with a few tracks in the DB (even on a clean install / fresh scan). So I tried creating a small test case by just creating a DB of the Files/Albums/Directories that are triggering this bug, but unfortunately, the problem doesn't occur in that scaled-down database.

What I can tell you is that if you use the DB from bug 8072, by clicking the following tracks in order, the bug consistently occurs:
Hiney Yomim
Fear of the South
Exodus
Time Zero (Paul Ritch Remix)

This is still occurring in 1401 (what I observe most often is that files that contain multiple images often don't display an image in the player) :-(

Test note: in addition to verifying that images display correctly in both the Player and Art&Details window, upon resolution verify:
- that when right-clicking on the Art&Details window, the correct number of images display
- that when playing multiple tracks quickly via Tracklist and Now Playing, that CPU utilization doesn't grow to 50%
(these are issues that came up over the course of testing this with Petr).
