Summary0007871: Incorrect caching of device content
DescriptionDuring MM session, device content isn't properly remembered, which becomes obvious when the option '[x] Delete files and playlists not included...' is checked. Simple steps to reproduce:

1. Check Playlist A; start Autosync; Uncheck Playlist A; start Autosync => tracks from Playlist A are _not_ removed from the device.
2. It seems that there might be other issues as well, I got some weird behavior, but it might have been caused by 1., so leaving further testing after 1. is fixed.

All tested on Google Nexus One, I suppose that it applies to any device, particularly any MSC device.

Tested 1380, and it seems to be broken--the Auto-sync list UI doesn't match what MM is actually doing. e.g.

1 Configure auto-sync to delete tracks that aren't on the auto-sync list, and prompt for deletion
2 Select artists a,b,c each of which has >1 track in the auto-sync list and auto-sync
--> Verify that they've synced correctly
3 De-select artists a,b from the sync-list and auto-sync
--> Only some of the tracks by artists a,b are deleted!
4 Manually delete all tracks from the device and auto-sync
--> Tracks from artist c are resynced, as are some of the tracks by artists a,b (which aren't even selected)!!

Confirmed. In my test, artist 'b', even though deselected in step 3, still behaves as selected.

I couldn't reproduce, because the exact steps are:

1. Find an artist with at least one album
2. Expand the artist!
3. Select the Artist and click [Apply]
4. Sync
5. Leave the device node!
6. Go back to the device node
7. Don't expand the artist!
8. De-select the artist
9. Sync
=> the tracks remains on the device

Fixed in build 1381.

I've tested in 1384 and cannot replicate. Nyn, can you post repro steps?

This appears to not be fully fixed, as there are 2 reports of variants of the problem in build 1439:

The user had "Accessible Tracks" selected in the playlists. This superseded his "Available Tracks" Selection, which caused MM to try and sync his whole track list.
i.e. It was just a test error.
