This has always been this way, My Computer node lists only tags are read from files, but in order to not lose any DB values, when user tries to edit it, values are also read from DB. We can certainly discuss whether it could be improved, but as post-4.0 issue. |

These files are not in the DB at all. The current behavior is bad as when you edit multiple files it doesn't add Album Artist, but if you edit individual files it does. This way you end up with some files with Album Artist and others with none. |

There is a change in behavior between MM4 and MM3. MM3 will show the Album Artist in the My Computer node for FLAC files ripped with EAC (which I suppose have Album Artist) while MM 4 won't. A) I looked at an Album ripped to FLAC by EAC in MM4: 1a) In My Computer no Album Artist 1b) Properties Window in My Computer does show Album Artist 2) Scan files in 3) Right after scan MM shows Album Artist in My Computer for a moment (than removes it again) 4) Music Collection shows Album Artist 5) Leaving MM on My Computer showed Album Artist for 1 track after some time 6) Refresh of node removed it again Same Album in MM3 (not opened in MM4 to make sure nothing was edited by MM4) 1) In My Computer shows Album Artist 2) Scan files in 3) Library shows Album Artist B) Same Album now moved to a monitored folder 1) Moving files to monitored folder (moving with Windows Explorer) 2) In Music node MM shows files being added 3) Album Artist is not shown (refresh view doesn't fix this) 4) Properties does show Album Artist 5) Remove Album from Library 6) Manual Add/Rescan Files 7) Files do show Album Artist |
