| Description | In build 1357, when doing a clean install, thumbnails aren't generated for hundreds of tracks (even though they play fine). Related issue is that installing the codec pack causes the thumbnails dialog to briefly appear (5s), but hundreds of tracks remain without thumbnails. This is should have worked to re-trigger the thumbnail generation process. The only workaround that worked was to delete some videos and then rescan them, which caused the thumbnail generation process to restart properly. | ||||

Tested 1359 (clean install) and this issue doesn't seem to be resolved. |

Note: I tested 1363 and the issue still remains (i.e. hundreds of tracks, although playable in MM, do not have thumbnails). As previously, upon installing the codec pack, the status bar showed MM quickly updating thumbnails, but no thumbnails were actually updated. Upon deleting and re-adding a video, though, the thumbnail generation process started correctly (i.e. over 2000 thumbnails started to be generated). |

Added a failing codecs list clean up after codec pack install. Please, retest in 1366. |

Retested 1366 and the problem still occurs. Uploaded debug log to ftp. Here are the key points in the log: - 740000: Clean install of MM. Directories scanned and thumbnails generated (partially--hundreds of tracks still missing thumbnails). 741326: Played track that is missing a thumbnail (just to show that the absence of the codec pack isn't the reason for the failed thumbnail) 756282: Same as above 756514: Same as above 756578: Removed the file from 756514 from the library 756624: Re-scanned the directory that contained the deleted file --> according to the status bar, thumbnails get 'generated' in ~2s, however, no thumbnails are actually generated (hundreds of playable tracks are still missing thumbnails). |

Thanks Rusty. The problem is in corrupted file wiggles_playtime_xvid_ac3.avi, it cancels thumb generation for those AVIs then. I will improve the algorithm, so occasional corrupted file does not cancel thumb generation for the same videotype. |
