This is caused by removing general file format detection that used Direct Show, it was very slow, unreliable, and was causing problems (see 0007226). It is related to more formats (MOV without 'ftyp' atom, MPEG1/2, FLV, OGV). Will be resolved sometimes later by implementing related format plugins.
