I Converted user example PLS to M3U for easier testing.

The issue is more likely due to fact that Stream do not have assigned extension and MM do not know witch input plugin it should use which I confirmed by playing radio stream in AIMP v2.10

After additional testing WMP 11 and MPC were also unable to play that Audio Stream.

Peke, it appears then that this is not a bug, or at best, a very low priority bug. Correct?

Yes, it looks like that it is not just MM issue, but MM is closest to fix and be able to play the stream.

I raised this as there is a problem. MM reads Station Info but Play just stops.

I'll ask user to test with some other applications, other than Winamp.

Additional codec: http://www.orban.com/plugin/

Peke, leaving this on your plate until you've confirmed whether this is something we need to fix.

Ok let me know if you need more testing.

I'll make it Confirmed to separate it from others.

Related to issue fixed in SVN revision 6258 regarding Bug 0002424 which fixed Stations that do not have WMA extension.

Peke, I don't think this is a regression. I don't believe MM ever could play an AAC plus radio stream.

Btw. I cannot play the stream in WMP 11 despite the fact I installed the Orban codec. Are you able to play the stream with the codec and WMP?

Do you know an aac plus stream that can be played by WMP or MM?

I noticed that Orban codec have issues with FFdshow and/or any Codec pack that contains it.
I successfully tested on clean install of Windows XPSP3 with WMP11 and Orban codec.

I agree that MM will not support AAC+ unless we include decoder (it looks that BASS have support for it).

AAC streams not just AAC+ also do not work.

Samples of AAC+ (HE-AAC) files that MM/iTunes/QT cannot play due to lack of the decoder are attached on our FTP, see: 0005100

User here http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=328449#p328449 says that AAC+ is part of Media Foundation, so it should be possible to play AAC+ streams with the in_mfaudio.dll plugin?

Assigned. Raised to Urgent as it looks like it should be easy to add.

Reminder sent to: jiri, rusty

Have we designed warning Dialog that some formats are only supported in systems that support Media Foundation eg. Vista+?

I don't think we need a warning, it would be inconsistent with our strategy to just fail playback gracefully (when there is lack of decoder).

Fixed in build 1466. Win7 required, Media Foundation is used then.

Test note: we should re-open for inclusion within the MM Codec Pack for non Win7 OSes after testing on Win7.

Test note 2: MP3/WMA radio URLs without extension should be tested to be sure there are no regressions.

Retested Today on Win 7 Home Premium both AAC+ and WMA using 1466.

Shouldn't be better to Open new bug for Non Windows 7 and Codec Pack as a child?
