Summary0018182: Bookmarks: Improving bookmarks handling
DescriptionWe should try to improve bookmark handling by adding Options button right of Enable bookmarking which will improve for users that do not have classified Media Type correctly.

- Dialog title would be Bookmarking options
- Dialog content would be Advanced search
- Default option would be Length (seconds) > 3600s (Which is 1h and mostly preferable to have bookmarking enabled eg. like whole CD in one file, mixes, Radio shows, ...)
TagsNo tags attached.

I don't quite understand the usecase. You seem to be describing 2 cases but I'm not really sure:
1) Manually bookmark tracks for content that is of a Type that isn't automatically bookmarked. This was already requested at 0018184 / 0018201
2) Manually mass edit bookmarks. I don't understand this usecase either (note: it's already possible to manually edit Start time)

It is completely different case, there is no manual edits or manually mass edits of bookmarks.

It was written so that user can set criteria that would auto Enable Bookmark for any track that falls under criteria if enabled for that Type eg. If you play Music track (Full CD rip) which length is >3600s (1h) and MM have ability to bookmark it automatically even it is Music Type then each time you play taht track it will continue where you stopped.

Many users that RIP/Have such long tracks that can be 11+h (usually around 2-3h (easy to find them on youtube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=relaxing+music+for+stress+relief and have them ripped in M4A for listening)

Or mixes from soundcloud for example https://soundcloud.com/search?q=80%27s%20party%20mix They are Type Music and this will allow to continue where they left of.

OK, so you're saying that it should be possible to enable Bookmarking conditionally. It would seem that the best location for this would be Tools > Options > Playback rules | Music:

[x] Enable bookmarking
. ( ) Always
. (o) For tracks > 10m

However, I'm not that keen on this since it would result in unexpected behavior (e.g. users would wonder why some tracks start playing in the middle rather than from the beginning).

I found a case where it is very useful eg. Video section where it is not desired to have bookmark for Music Videos, but very useful for longer videos, or in Music where whole CD rips (without CUE) can be easily continued listening on stopped time, or there are some podcasts that include actual 3-4 min music tracks that should be played without bookmarking while other 10+ min. should. It is small gradient that allows users to get fine grain on listening experience (leaving current behavior as default one).
