No need for a menu, there is the subscription tutorial.
Just unified look of the podcast subscribe tutorial and the empty playlist's editor

I agree that it should be enough, but still it it is a bit user unfriendly. Especially for transition.

I would simply show same popup no matter if there is subscriptions or not. With exception that highlighted options would be grayed out if there is no subscriptions. |
