Summary0013531: Locate Moved/Missing tracks fail on some files
DescriptionI could not replicate but was able to replicate on users PC that some files after copy are not found on new destination.
Steps To ReproduceTo test and confirm it is issue in MWM these steps are used.
1. Checked if file is playable on old location
2. Rescaned file location so that MMW DB is current and file timestamp and size are updated from physical file on HDD
3. Copied file to new destination and renamed original folder so that MMW detect dead link
4. Used Locate Moved Missing track to update path in new destination and IT FAILED
5. Restored original file and folder name
6. Edited some metadata and saved to tag so that MMW updates FileSize in MM.DB
7. Copied file to new destination and renamed original folder so that MMW detect dead link to be sure same file is on destination
8. Used Locate Moved Missing track to update path in new destination and IT FAILED to locate file

Supplied User DB and sample track that can't be locatable. In DB there is one Media(Entire library\Location\HDD) that contain only 4 files which includes sample track.

NOTE: other 16k+ of tracks are located and MM.DB is updated without problems by using same steps above

Peke, it seems that the 4 files needs to be somehow specific, probably by filename?

On the screenshot from JPX-981-46333 I see that the paths and drive volume labels are same, only the drive letters are distinct? Is this the key?
Were the other 16K tracks on a different HDD with a different volume label?
Or if this is not the key, could you please find the key and replicate so that we have a clue?

Both drives exist but music folder is copied to second disk after Step 2 and original folder "Music" "1music" so that MMW generate grayed tracks and allow locate moved missing to find files on new drive. Which is successful for all tracks except those 4.

DB contain three locations C drive, one drive with only 4 tracks that can't be located (physical drive is present but tracks are not in the DB path step 3) and third drive with all other files including those 4.

You should extract DB and try to locate sample track. After it fails we need to determine why as that track is one from original drive and playable/recognized if pathname is restored (Reverted rename from step3) and what makes MMW fail to locate it and/or why rescan Step2 do not update DB so it can be located afterwards in step4 but listed in non locatable files.

Peke,
extracted the DB and copied the track to the same location (but on my disc C:\ ) and used "Locate Moved or Missing Files" (see the attached screengrab) and the file was located without issues.

User re-scanned those 4 tracks and could not replicate anymore.

Resolving.
