Summary0012978: MediaMonkey fails to terminate after mediastore/sync operations
DescriptionIf I perform the following tests, MMA often fails to terminate:
1 perform some USB Sync operations. e.g.
 - USB sync a few playlists: Shlomo Katz, Test hierarchy, Test list, 2 playlists sub to 'Test Playlists'
 - USB Sync 'Test list 2' playlist
 - USB sync after Removing Test list, Test list 2, and add Bar Mitzvah

2 Install MMA, set the notifications timer to 10s, and wait for the mediastore sync to complete.

3 Sync Shlomo Katz, Test hierarchy, Test list, 2 playlists sub to 'Test Playlists'

4 Back out of MMA to close it
--> sync completes, but MMA process never terminates

Note: other operations don't have this problem:
a) running mma and closing it --> mma terminates after 10s
b) playing a track in mma and closing it --> mma terminates after 10s
c) configure sync profile --> mma terminates after 30s (not sure why it takes extra time, but it still terminates relatively quickly)
d) perform a sync operation --> mma terminates after 15s

I'm not exactly certain exactly what causes this, but it seems to be some combination of sync/mediastore sync.

As discussed, there is a safety 10 minutes delay after it should always exit. Could you please provide me log with build 510 ?

Tested build 511, and after I perform the following steps, MMA failed to terminate:
1 Deleted all playlists and tracks in MMA
2 Exited MMA
3 Connected device to MMW via USB (without waiting for MMA process to terminate)
4 Disconnected
-->MMA process fails to terminate (StorageObserverService keeps running)
Debug log: 61IP84MX2Y
-->After about 9 minutes, MediaMonkey crashes and debug logs were automatically submitted.
Manually generated debug logs: RTHZTOL2N5

Tested build 511 again, and MMA fails to terminate after just running it and backing out of it. As above, the storage observer service is running non-stop. i.e.

1 reboot device
2 run mma
-->mediastore is synced (i.e. I see the sync notification for a couple of seconds)
3 back out of mma
4 Open file manager
--> MMA continues running for 10+ minutes (I generated the log after 10 minutes)

Note: upon doing a clean install of 511 (i.e. getting rid of the /MediaMonkey directory) the problem went away.

i.e. something in the DB causes the Storage Observer Service to keep running--can you please have a look at the logs?

Peke suggested that it may be related to ~43322 though I'm not sure--in my case the issue seems to be related to the MMA database rather than to an android systemic issue?

Additional note: after doing the clean install and then doing a couple of USB sync operations then a wifi sync operation and another USB sync operation, MMA is again in a state where it fails to stop running.

However, this time, it is the ReportService that is listed as not closing.

This issue appears to be resolved in 513, however, I don't want to close it until 12961 is resolved.

Closing since this issue is fixed and 12961 is probably not possible to resolve.
