Summary0012678: Lyrics not updated for existing track on iOS8 device
DescriptionEditing lyrics of a track that is already on iPod and re-syncing doesn't update the lyrics.
I guess this must be an Apple regression (iOS8 ?), because this definetly worked before (0011756) and MediaMonkey writes/sends the metadata correctly.

Other properties seems to be propagated to iPod correctly.

Workaround is to delete the track from the device completely and re-sync.

To confirm my speculation I tested iPod Touch 4g (iOS 6.1.6) and it works fine, so it is iOS7+ or iOS8 issue.

The same issue happens when syncing using iTunes (tested myself), and also discussed here
https://discussions.apple.com/message/26200367
and here

Resolved as "won't fix"

As explained above it is actually Apple's regression, i.e. changing lyrics in iTunes and sync won't update the lyrics on the device too.

The only way how to force the device to update the lyrics would be to completelly overwrite its SQLite database after sync, but this was deprecated in iOS5+ (by the new "air sync" workflow) where only the device itself (iOS) writes to the database so it would probably cause unpredictable issues and would be quite dangerous hack.
