| Description | In some cases, users are unable to prevent content on their devices from being included within the MMA library. For example: 1 MMA User checks directories to scan into the MMA library --> After a sync operation the corresponding directories are checked in MMW, AND certain directories (\Movies and \Music and ?\Video?) that are preconfigured as sync destinations: a) in Options > Other media file locations to scan (so that the files on the device are browsable in MMW when the device is connected) b) in Auto-sync new files and playlists from the device to the PC (so that if the user initiates Wi-Fi Sync with the bi-di option, all tracks from MMA will be synced) 2 If the MMA user tries to uncheck the \Movies and \Music directories that were pre-selected in MMW --> MMA lets the user deselect some of the directories (e.g. \Movies) but not others (e.g. \Video or \Music)!! Worse is that this even occurs for directories that are on a storage location that isn't being synced!! 3 If the MMA user tries to uncheck the directories that were checked in step 1 --> The directory checkbox is greyed out in MMA and the user is unable to deselect it!! The only way to remove it is by first removing it from the MMW configs (items a) and b) above) and performing a sync operation; I haven't tested whether following that workaround procedure also works for deselecting directories that are pre-configured as sync destinations. A partial fix could be to never lock the scanning locations for locations that aren't configured to be synced. A full fix as suggested by Marek would be to allow deselection of a directory in MMA and to propagate this change to MMW at the next sync operation (which seems reasonable, since if the user indicates that content isn't part of the MMA library, then it most certainly shouldn't be synced). Note: this should be pushed completely OR only partially implemented if it's likely to delay the release of 1.0.7 (or if it requires changes to MMW). | ||||
