I wonder if 0008542 requires the emptying of the device. It seems that after removing the videos too that sync works again.

The sync failed though in that the iPod sees no Playlists and most tracks are greyed out on the iPod. The single track iTunes sync fails on the greyed out files (but restored Playlists) and Music App is very sluggish (doesn't seem to respond at all) on the iPod [debug2.zip]

New sync asked to remove 56 files (should be 700+ files on device) and after sync lacks files on Playlists [debug3.zip]

I am also unable to repro,
I see from the first log that at 1809 sec (after hour of syncing) the device stops responding, but I haven't seen a reason in the log, because the log is missing many debug mesages, this often happens if DbgView is started after MM start. DbgView needs to be started prior to MM and then just eventually cleared by using Ctrl+X.

Also in the debug3 I see many failures, especially the device is very slow to respond, it often doesn't respond in the 30 sec timeout. I have no idea why.

I will ask Petr for the submitted AV to see more.

I think the initial issue of not enough space is probably caused by files from previous syncs (prior to conversion display bug fix) being on the device. However on the latest sync (emptied with iTunes, synced one song (to reset DB) and that song also removed) resulted in both Playlists having the amount of files expected and the total files also matched what MM reported it was syncing. However nearly all files are greyed out on the device [debug4.zip].

Thank you, based on the log I was able to found the reasons, it is a regression introduced in 4.1 (while fixing 0010242)

Problems resolved on 1622.

I did use iTunes to remove all files, sync single file, remove it prior to starting MM sync. Ran 2 successful syncs after this.
